A really beautiful traditional Appenzeller house, which has been wonderfully renovated and leaves nothing to be desired. The kitchen and bathrooms are of a very high standard and the house is also very tastefully furnished. Unfortunately, it only has one real double bed. The other beds are traditional Appenzeller beds, which do not have a standard size and are intended for single use. But it has enough beds so that everyone can find a nice place to sleep.<br> We really enjoyed our stay over Easter and can only recommend the house. As already mentioned here, it is ring-heavy, but this simply cannot be avoided in such an old, traditional house (and is probably just part of it).

We now have a wonderful time at the Steinmann House. The discovery of the house, its multiple pieces on the four levels, with the circulations of the escaliers dérobés, is a real pleasure on the slopes. Les services de table anciens, la collection de puzzle en bois, la décoration et les livres d'or magnifiquement illustrés depuis un siècle nous ont fait sentir comme des explorateur dans l'histoire régionale. The complete equipment on the terrace is also perfect for the benefit of beautiful temperatures and views. Ideal situation to discover the region on dispose of a vehicle, on which it also benefits from the commodités of the village of Stein and the baignades in the river Sitter en contrebas.

We spent Christmas Holidays and New Year’s Eve in this amazing house which is merging modern comforts to a traditional house and the outcome is simply great. Everything was perfect and well organized, starting from the booking process, the availability of the owners to drive us through the house and its history, provide suggestions for possible trips and grant the full availability of everything we could need for our staying (dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, covered parking slot on top of the garage, garden equipment, games for our children etc). We can strongly recommend this solution as a strategical starting point to visit the surroundings, trekking and jogging excursions …even if we enjoyed also spending some days just relaxing in such a charming house: the whole family will remember our jass and lotto matches in the “Stübli” for a long time!
